I attach a standard suction hose (typically 0.25″ in diameter) and the other end to a hypodermic needle (typically 18 gauge) and I use it to suction contents out of abdominal organs. It is great for the urinary bladder so dogs wake up from anesthesia more comfortably or then I can palpate for stones better. It can also be helpful to suction out the stomach contents if it isn’t too thick which helps to palpate for foreign bodies or if a dog has a GDV/bloat then it deflates their stomach easier.”
